Operator Site Sharing

Radio Design offers market leading operator site sharing solutions that enable operators to effectively share sites and entire antenna systems. These unique products can be customised to meet the particular needs of each customer and a particular example is the recently launched site sharing combiner. The site sharing combiner allows two 3G operators to share the entire antenna system and therefore provides for effective site sharing and significant reductions in both OPEX and CAPEX. A 2G path is included that allows for a 2G BTS to also share the site and antenna system and therefore deliver further savings to the operators. The main features of the combiner are:

• Low loss in all Tx and Rx paths
• Allows both Rx and Tx diversity
• 2G/3G combining included in the same unit reducing overall system losses
• AISG layer one converter included removing need for additional smart bias T’s
• Designed to fit in a large range of cabinets and suitable for both indoor and outdoor use

GSM / UMTS 900

The rollout of UMTS900 has already commenced in several countries and is set to grow significantly over the next few years. Radio Design offers a solution that allows operators to simultaneously run their GSM and UMTS networks and make use of a common antenna system. Radio Design’s solution consists of a suite of products that gives flexibility in frequency planning, maintains link budgets and allows for minimal spacing between GSM and UMTS carriers.
