 Repairs Technician - UK - Shipley

Prospective candidates are required to:


• Have an analytical mind capable of solving problems in electronic systems and circuits through methodical and logical reasoning when supported by appropriate documentation.


• Be able to fault find to component level on PCBs using suitable equipment (including Digital Multi Meters, Oscilloscopes, etc.)


• Have the ability to read and understand schematics and block diagrams of electronic circuits and systems.


• Be able to perform mechanical assembly and disassembly using a variety of basic hand tools

.
• Be competent at soldering/reworking both surface-mount and through-hole components by hand, usually using soldiering irons.


• Be able to interpret and follow the provided work instructions and test procedures.


• Be familiar with general electronics terminology.


• Be PC literate, including using e-mail and Microsoft Office.


• Be willing to work in a busy environment where work is carried out to exacting quality standards.


• Be willing to expand on current skills and knowledge through continuous on-the-job learning and improvement.


• Work well as part of a team in a disciplined and tidy manner respecting all relevant current legislation.


• Be proactive in highlighting potential improvements to systems and procedures.


In addition to the above, the following would be desirable in a prospective candidate:


• Prior experience of RF electronics.


• Familiarity with RF measurements using network analysers, signal generators and/or spectrum analysers, etc.


• Prior experience of RF filters, including tuning/alignment.


• Prior experience of PSUs and/or switched mode PSUs.


• Experience of soldering/reworking surface-mount and through-hole components using hot air and/or infra-red soldering/rework stations.


• Experience of soldering/reworking surface-mount and through-hole components using a variety of means through a microscope or similar.
